I love Belgian Tripels. They are dry and subtle, with a flavor that speaks to your tongue in many different ways for a good long time, like an interesting conversation.

My absolute favorite is Westvleteren Tripel, but that's rather hard to get. Westmalle Tripel is a good second. Chimay is good too, but not quite in the same league. A brewer in Montreal, Unibroue, makes a convincing Triple called Fin du Monde, which is available at Trader Joe's.

Orval makes my favorite Belgian ale, though Duval is quite good too.

The Czechs make the best Pilsner, Pilsner Urquell.

    Default Mahou draft

I am not too big a fan of too much flavour in my beers so sweet Belgium beers and heavy ales are not my thing. If I can get hold of it Mahou Classico (though really it makes all the difference if it come from a tap and not from the bottle or even worse a can) is the best. If it's just something I know to get at the local shop (when in England) Grolsch is my default although right now I am in Taiwan and the only thing decent is 'Taiwan beer' which gets rave reviews but I don't really rate it. I used to live in Singapore and I echo a previous post Tiger beer is actually really good, I reccomend that too. But hey have you seen the ad for Northern Korean beer? It is hilarious (if you manage to sit through it)YouTube - North Korean Beer Commercial
. I've never tried it but it is supposed to be seriously good, German's went over and installed the breweries apparently.

@ NK beer from the AP

What's that medicine that's great for mellowing you out... oh yea, heroine. And what is it that gives you a little pick me up when you're feeling down... oh yea, cocaine.

Sounds like the drug market in the US before we knew better.

    Chimay Blue
    Triple Karmeleit

Are 2 of my favorites. My go to beer on a regular basis is probably New Castle.
