Is THAT what that used to be?

J/K. It looks like a well loved American icon.

New tobacco from Pipes and Cigars. Hearth and home Old Tartan with a Peterson Rhodesian and some Jameson. Nice American Non Aromatic, Burly, little bit of Cavendish and just enough Latakia to give it some smokey flavor.

They used to put Deer tongue in this but have switched to a secret alternative since Deer tongue has health concerns. Very nice all around smoke. So far I really like it.Apparently this kind of blend was very popular about a generation ago. I can see why. And that's my Cat Misha......he's sleeping nicely. I thought ,why not ?

I like Hearth and Home. White Knight is my fav. Black Knight is also good.
Sasieni 4Dot Rustic Danzey's XS. A really nice pipe from 1982.

Klas Tornblom razor. Cannot tell if the scales are horn or ivory. They are severely warped.

We're releasing the hounds I see now(Bulldogs). Now that McClellen is kaput,I'm venturing out since my stash is finally getting low. Thought I would give Russ's blends a try as I have read good things about them on their site.

So just to get a random topic going here, I used to be into aromatic virginias but I think I may be transforming into something else here. Not into strong English or Balkens but latakia is looming lightly over the horizon which is why I'm trying the old tartan. I still like aromatics but I don't go for the really syrupy ones...tongue bite and moisture build up anyone ? Will be interesting to see. Burley's also seem to be calling me as I like that toasty flavor which goes great with a cup O Joe. How bout you guys ? What's your taste profile like these days ?

OldGI a long gone member it seems used to always bring up old Joe Krantz. I know that its a strong burly from what he used to say.
