Just had a great day on saturday. Me and some friends played older games on network (5 player).
First some sessions of UT99 (CTF, Assault and Deathmatch)
And after that some W40K Dawn of War Dark Crusade games.
We usually play the older games so that every rig can play it to the fullest and they're cheap for everyone to get a legal copy. Also....they're just as much fun!

Thanked: 1262I need to get my xbox hooked back up and go replay ME2. I think i will replay with an all human council this time(i save 2 different endings on me1). I do enjoy the bonus you get on the second play through though.
What class to play though.....
tekbow. What is you opinion on the 2 different endings on ME2?

Don't you mean the 1500 diff endings?
well, have had 3 or so variations, have had everyone lives (much respectful choked up nodding and acknowledgement as shepard strides past), have had everyone survives but the crew didn't all make it (kelly chambers got melted) and Dr chakwas tore you a new one for it, and have had not all crew survives (lost thane and garrus). the losing thane and garrus one was also in conjunction with not having any ME1 playthrough available (hard drive had died and lost the files), in that one, the default was that the udina was the councillor and Wrex was dead. I did not like this.
I've never had shepard die after fighting the human reaper (not sure how to manage that) and i've never handed the collector station to the illusive man (just as well because the rumour is cereberus id indoctrinated). I do have a save game from right before i beat the human reaper so i may go back and give the illusive man the station so i have that option for ME3.
If you're talking about paragon vs renegade variations, i have never had it in me to be a renegade.. not playing KOTOR, or fallout, or this.. I always make the selfless, kind choices. Unfortunately i also lost my save game where i choose kaiden over ashley, so i haven't had that variation. Lets face it, ashleys hotter, and when i played ME1 to get the bonus stuff etc for ME2 i went with her. Should have saved kaiden though cos as it turns out miranda is hotter.. i feel this may lead to a catfight in ME3.
Let me know about what ending variations you have seen, I do know if you don't perform all squad upgrades then people die, and i know if you don't have everyones loyalty, people die. if you wait after the normandy gets attacked by the collectors, say going to get more upgrades and do more missions, then not all the kidnapped crew survive (kelly mentioned above).
apparently for the PC theres some sort of file creation editor out there you can use to create files for the various options going from ME1 to ME2
As to what class to play, I'm always a blunt force instrument, i go with soldiers because i can't do without assault rifles. The bonus semi auto rifle gained from one of the DLC's combined with a high level and the warp ammo levelled all the way up (gotten from jack if completing her loyalty mission and then selecting it in retrain powers from the ugrade terminal) is just the hardest core weapon in the game. Accurate and powerful, and fully levelled up warp am goes through everything, goes through armour as well as incendiary ammo, goes through shields as well as disuptor ammo etc, so it takes away the need for 3 diff ammo types.Last edited by tekbow; 09-20-2011 at 09:41 AM.

Thanked: 1262That does suck you lost your me1 saves. In mine wrex is some kind of leader now.
I accidentally overwrote my save where I destroy the ship, need to go back and replay the ending at least. It did not sit well with me.
My first play through I ended up not playing paragon enough and it screwed me over. My second playthough I decided to play renegade. I found actually felt like a dick sometimes playing that style.

see above, i edited about my class selection
Yeah, if in ME1 you don't have a barny with wrex and kill him, clan urdnot ends up predominant on tuchunka and he's running the show (in a good way), if you do kill him in ME1 or dont have an ME1 save game, the default is he's dead.
FWIW i think having savegames from the previous games are essential, the bonuses involved are just to good not to have, especialy if you've been anal about playing them.
Right there with you about feeling like a dick lol just cannot do it, i think it's a testament to the quality of this and games like FO3, KOTOR etc that it really does challenge you morally and ethically speaking

Thanked: 46I've done a full paragon ME2 (PS3, didn't need a ME1 save since they did this funny interactive comic to bring me up to speed with the critical choices. I went all hero the first time and all dick the second) and am now doing a 100% a-hole for the second playthough. Made the second character ugly as a busted ass as well, just to complete the character.
First playthrough I lost Jack and Kelly though. Felt bad about that but could never get jack back on side after the cat fight between her and Miranda. I think I made a bad choice in the last series of missions that got her killed. This time I'm trying to keep everybody alive but ticked off with me.

Thanked: 1587I have a hacked Wii - does that count?
I am a Zelda fan, and I have pre-ordered my Gold Edition Skyward Sword due for release in a month or two I think. I also like the Wii for the emulation of old consoles - I can play all the old games from my youth! Donkey Kong rocks!
One other thing I have discovered is the (free) snes9X EX emulator on the Android market. You need to have legal roms to use with it, but it is quite fun to play Street Fighter II etc on your phone. You can also set it up so that you can use Wiimotes via bluetooth.
