Caught part of The Far Country last night, starring James Stewart and Walter Brennan. Great scene with James Stewart shaving several days of growth with a straight, first with the grain then across it. Jimmy obviously really knew his business.

I watched "The Green Mile" again yesterday and noticed that one of the prison guards (played by Barry Pepper) used a straight to shave the tops of the convicts heads - just prior to them being taken to the chair.
I'll bet getting nicked was the least of their worries.

Yeah thats a good one -- right before he blows the 3 guys away
BILLY BORDERS: Flea bitten range bums don't usually stop in Lago. Life here's a little too quick for them. Maybe you think you're fast enough to keep up with us, huh?
STRANGER: A lot faster than you'll ever live to be.

I liked the scene in Pan's Labrynth, althought the Spanish officer is a bit detestable, the shaving scene is interesting.

I dont know if any of you have seen the movie "NITTI"... its supposed to be a dramatisation of the life of Franco Nitto... Al Capones right hand man.
When he first came to amercia he worked as a barber and used to trade stolen goods with the local lads... he'd talk business while giving a straight razor shave...
Customer: Hey frank, you always talk business while shaving??
Nitto: If you talk business with a razor in your hand... people tend to pay more attention"
I understand he maintained that attitude long after he'd given up barbering.
In one of the earlier scenes he puts his suitcase against the front of a barbershop and goes inside to ask about a job... the barber hands him a straight and says... "know how to use one of these??" he says yes...
"Then lets see you use it on the dog that's pissing on your suitcase!!"
Pretty good scene

Jack Nicholson gets a barber shop shave in "Chinatown" -- see my avatar. You never actually see the razor because he gets into an argument with the guy in the next chair while getting lathered up. The "Scent of a Woman" shave scene is also a good one, but not as good as the tango scene.

The movie Rounders has a good scene where Matt Damon and Edward Norton go to a barbershop and get a straightrazor shave.

In the film "Escape to Athena" there are two scenes that I noticed. First one is Telly Savales is stropping up a razor while is woman is talking to him about something, then later during a battle with the germans, a greek guy is having a shave in a barbers shop and runs out to throw some grenades before running back to sit down and continue his shave.
