That is a sick movie.

Yeah I read all the way through, not believing nobody had mentioned Pan's Labyrinth yet, but jimmyman and sinnfein finally both brought it up.

The best part is the one woman puts the razor in his mouth, with the blade to the inside of his cheek, and threatens to cut him... then after she gets what she wants, she cuts him anyway, pulling the razor through his cheek right where his lips meet, giving him half of a 'The Joker' grin.

Best part is he stitches it up, bandages it (all in front of the camera, kinda gruesome) and then takes a shot of whiskey without thinking. Of course the alcohol stings pretty bad when you're cut from the inside out, but the way you see it... it comes through the cut into the bandage on the outside, and you see him wince pretty badly... just an amazing scene.

And even better because the bastard deserves every bit of pain he gets, heh.

I just can't believe nobody on this thread has mentioned Hitchcock's "North By Northwest"! C'mon, guys!

Two come to mind.

There is an ever so brief moment in Dances with Wolves where Kevin Costner makes one stroke on his cheek. Watching it now I realize he didn't really know how to use a straight.

Another was an episode of M.A.S.H. in which Hawkeye shaves with a straight. Alan Alda did seem to know how to use one however.

Not strictly shaving but in the new film "Bourne Ultimatum", when Jason is in Tangier he's fighting the agent called Desh in a house, they crash through a door into the bathroom and Desh grabs a straight razor off the sink and starts fighting with it.

Jason still kicks his ass though.

I saw that too and thought "Who leaves their straight razor on the sink?" only in the movies!!!!
