Yeah, that's why I put mine in a coffee mug full of water beforehand. You can leave it in there for days, won't hurt it.
But I like to pull it, and change the water after each session.

Because of a recent acquisition, I'll be posting on this thread soon. Still thinking about the final hone.
I used to use glass, water and ash on my K-Bar years ago, thinking about doing it again.

One thing is for certain, the brown turd will often keep me off the DMT.

Even as applying the DMT when necessary, that slurry on the green rock takes it smoother pretty fast. Dilute!

It's a 600 Naniwa slurry turd. Outback supplied mine.

    I expect SRD?

I use mine all the time to remove swarf on my bevel set. I find it also helps speed up the process. They're great little stones.

I've used it on all my Nanis from 800 - 12000. Does a great job of opening up the garnets, and I haven't had to lap a stone since last year.
I've checked them a few times during the year, but their staying flat with its use.

My brown turd came with the green brick a few years ago, was very skeptical at first to use it, because many posts about it on this forum claiming just to get rid of it, its useless. Tried it anyway as a slurry stone and found it useful in the early stages of bevel setting.
