Yea I know what you mean. I'm pretty much from BFE and it's crazy just the attitudes between people in the city and out in small towns. Oh and Btw I love the knife. I wrapped the grip in 550 cord and put on the TDI belt clip. It seems to be good size, nice and sturdy, it's sharp but I'd like a bit sharper, the handle is a little small but its a good size for a necker or a CCW/boot knife. Overall I'd buy another if i loose this one 10 times out of 10. I'll post pictures of the knife and how I carry it probably later tonight.
No that pistol isn't the only thing under my kilt, but I can tell you both of them work just fine

Lol nice to see a forum filled with such generous people!
But seriously that really sucks and I'd be doing all I could to keep them from my collection of razors.Shaving_story on Instagram

Fat lot of good that does me when the zombies come and all my stuff is at your place.
Many years ago they did try a "gun buy back" scheme, where the government gave you some money for any guns you had, and amnesty if they were not legal. Basically it did take an awful lot of guns out of peoples homes... but only the honest peoples homes. The criminal types never gave back their guns, of course. So now, with the exception of a few dedicated shooters who are prepared to pay the astronomical licence fees, and go through all the red tape involved in owning weapons here, the only people who are armed are the criminals.
On a plus side, the chances of you getting shot in a crime here is very slim. Illegal handguns are so expensive here that only serious gangsters have them. And serious gangsters are not likely to be holding you up in the street for your wallet, or breaking into your house. Most of the shooting deaths here are gangsters shooting other gangsters over rivalries.
Junkies here just hold you up with a syringe. Which the government gives to them free.

Thanked: 983I will say that Legion is right on most points...Money was given to those that handed over their previously legal firearms (even a few of the illegal ones). It truly was a balls up though, in that many firearms dissappeared before they went to the crusher, other firearms somehow managed to be 'bought back' more than once and others ended up in the hands of those crims that Legion spoke about. The amounts given to those handing them in depended on how much you knew about rorting the system...
Blackmarket weapons trade is there if you can afford it, and many of those come in through Pakistan where there is a huge trade in back street copies of any firearm you could want, being made and sold.
What Legion may not be aware of, is the many armed robberies that have occurred in my region over recent months, many of which have been done with handguns...Whether real or replica is not known. But even a finger in a pocket will do the trick if you're game enough I suppose. We have also recently lost a police officer who was shot in the face with a shotgun. This wasn't one of those 'nasty' illegal styles of shotgun either. Just an ordinary everyday saw off. Criminals will always be able to access a weapon...Or buy a metal lathe and make their own.
And junkies will hold you up with a syringe...The police only minutes away...Sometimes 60 minutes or more.

Thanked: 983I think we should get back to posting about combat knives...I've whined enough about the state of affairs in this country...Don't worry I've written to quite a few people in power over the last few days and put it out there to all my mates to do just the same and to spread the word to their mates and so on.
So, I do apologise for taking this topic and sidetracking it. Now I want to drool over other peoples bladeware and re-discover some joy in life
