My grandpa used to call this an Irish breakfast.
Farm-fresh bacon, farm-fresh eggs cooked in the bacon's grease, toast with homemade raspberry jam.
A few cups of joe.
Have a great Saturday.

I drove to my classes today instead of taking the bus, so i wasn't (as) rushed and had the time to make something nicer than I normally have. Fried up a couple eggs, had a few slices of emental cheese, and two pieces of toast with goat cheese and raspberry jam, with a cup of black tea with milk and honey.

Rise and shine! The Breakfast car is now open. Show us your Breakfast !!
My current favourite breakfast/brunch dish, egg muffins.
So incredibly simple to make but so tasty.
These ones contain diced bacon, balsamic glazed red onion and Parmesan. (The ones on the right that I've already dipped into also have a bit of spicy chorizo)

Couple of bacon sandwiches on sourdough bread, with fried cherry tomatoes and some alfalfa sprouts, and the last steeping of a 2008 Long Yun Hao ripe pu'erh session that started last night.

Thanked: 49You guys have flung a craving on me as the late Jerry Clower used to say. I'm trying to figure out if I can use frozen shredded Ore Ida hashbrowns to make a duck fat fried rosti.

Not my favourite way to start the day.
New stove, so turned on the wrong element and burned plastic onto it. I was wondering why it was taking so long for the coffee to brew...

Thanked: 49I think that I am going to go hog wild. A number of years ago, how many I am afraid to say, I was in grad school at the University of Florida. There was a well known down homey eating establishment called Skeeter' Big Biscuits. The were known for their biscuits which were, well, big as the name implies, like the size of a bread plate. By the time I got to town, they had a couple of locations but the main branch at that time was a large space in a shopping center on NW 13th street. I was open 24/7 and we patronized heavily by inebriated students after closing time at 2am. The most popular cheap specialty was a concoction called the Asher Special. IIRC, it consisted of one of the big biscuits with fried egg, hash browns and a slathering of country gravy all piled up high. Great hangover prevention, no? I was a grad student, so I could actually afford breakfast meat unlike some of the undergrads, but I had to try it once. it was filling to say the lear and quite good at absorbing any alcohol that was still in the stomach. I do not have the huge biscuits, but I think that I will try to create a version myself using sausage gravy instead of plain gravy because I can still afford breakfast meats. Although the taste way get washed out, I still plan to use the duck fat to fry up the potatoes because, well, it must be done. I'll let you guys know if i survive.
