For some reason I have a hard time buying food on the net. Arguably irrational but...

Thanks for the tip on the Costplus. I drive within a couple of blocks of that store a couple of times a day. I was in there a while ago but never thought of them in this instance.

Yup......that's where I used to get my Marmite till they relocated. Now it's Amazon. But that's okay cause now I get it in the 500g tubs instead of the small crocks which I go through too fast.

As for buying anything off the net......it's pick and choose for me as it's always the question of the dreaded shipping n handling.

I have decided that tomorrow is going to be Australian cuisine day.

I am going to take a drive and see what I can come up with. Here are things I think I can find or make.

Vegemite, Weetabix, Melba toast, Damper, Granny Smith or Pink lady apples, Kangaroo, and Macadamia nuts.

Any other ideas of what I can find here in Minnesota without the net?

After I try to find these maybe Thursday will be Aussie day!

As for kangaroo nuts...Not rally tasty at all, and a bit smallish...Did you know those buggers can pull their...macadamia nuts inside their body's when they get into a stoush with another 'roo. Handy skill to have if you ask me!

Good luck finding a good one! And witchetty grubs are, no word of a lie, very tasty. I have had them before and would have them again. Bush foods are under utilised if you ask me.

I will see what tomorrow brings and may take you up on your offer!

Here we call nuts Rocky Mountain Oysters. Very good but i have not tried Kangaroo.

I think that Whichetty grubs may be hard to come by here. We have a few that are similar but I think I would have to be very hungry to try them. Or maybe after a few Australian beers that I may add to my list.

We call 'em Bush Oysters. Just make sure that beer isn't Fosters. No one in Australia drinks that garbage. I heard the best Fosters was exported to other countries, so I bought and tried one in Vegas...I tipped it into the gutter after forcing half a can of the godawful stuff down my throat. And it's only worse here.
