At $500 they can keep it. I am sure it is the Real Deal, but I don't have that much coin into an entire kitchen (and camper, and garage) full of cast.
We bought a Staub Dutch oven a couple years ago with a great coupon. It is a very nice piece of cookware used at least once a week in our house. I'll keep my lodge Dutch oven for camping though. Too pricey even with the coupon to take out of the house.

couldn't help but notice you situated your pans right side up in the oven after putting your fat in there. I always thought the generally accepted method was to turn the pans upside down. I'm tempted to try your way the next few rounds of seasoning I do.

That wasn't me that was the guy who made the video. I put mine in upside down when I season.

We bought the Rachel Ray version a few years ago and use it a couple times a month. It is heavy well enameled and still going strong.

The 5.25 qt sells for about 60 new, but you can buy them on sale at around 40. Buy the one with the built in, enameled handles, not the one with attached chrome handles, they are easier to clean.Name: 31iVHGr6CjL._SX425_.jpg

    Cooking breakfast.. Type A style..

BS&R #5 & Griswold #6 on the left.. and my ::ahem:: 12" Teflon on the right. Yeah it's not CI but it fits so much bacon!

Fried peppers, fried ham, bacon, omelets, coffee.

Cooked up a few strip steaks last night..

My two favorite ingredients.. Meat and Heat.

    Enjoy the day sirs.

And for pennies on the dollar you can have a CI fry pan that same size or bigger and fit even more meat in it......meat is neat !! Looks like a good brekkie !

I cooked up some French Toast in my small cast iron pan for some breakfast today. I topped it with some strawberry topping that I made with berries from my little patch and sweetened them with the last of my raw honey from Afghanistan.
