No really added it to get Roy drooling over the second keyboard

Whether or not your smoker is Iron--this would fit in nicely anywhere! Thanks for your commitment to those Vets! :

OH!--I've actually have 2 keyboards so I can keep them rotated from the drooling

The Wagner chicken fryer is in the oven with a free range chicken topped with sweet onions. Sides are mashed taters, gravy, whole kernel corn, sweet pickles, and black olives. Wine is home made rhubarb, dessert apple pie, and afterwards I'm going to smoke a bowl in my Meerschaum pipe. Merry Christmas gents.

    Question Gents!

My best buddy is very interested in breaking out his folks vintage cast iron along with a couple of cast iron pans that I cleaned up for him while I was visiting this summer.

I've always used either traditional electric or gas burners. However his home uses one of the glass top electric stoves and his lovely bride has Great Concerns about the cast iron on 'her' stove (yes she does 90% of the cooking).

So my question is this; Would using a belt sander and then a palm sander to smooth the bottoms be of any help to reduce any possible damage?

I believe that Glen uses the glass top (but is hoping that he can convert over to gas).

Any thoughts or suggestions are more than welcome!

I use a glass top stove. Since my skillets are vintage they are pretty smoothe on the bottom. I just try to keep them clean and don't slide the skillets back and forth across the glass.

I am also stuck with a glass top since that's what was in the house when I bought it. The skillets I use have flat bottoms and I use them on the stove top. I do have one small one I use for cornbread and it has a raised ridge around the bottom. I only use that one in the oven.

It's all about the Heat up and movement

Usually the Right hand front burner on many stoves especially Glass Tops is a "Hot Burner" it will have way more BTU output then the rest

The glass top heat up really fast anyway and if it has a hot burner it is multiplied again you have to be careful not to warp the pans on the heat up, older Vintage Thinner Pans are even more susceptible to this..|
So tell him to heat them up carefully

Then of course you can't shake the pans on the burners, but honestly we don't really do that with CI anyway like we do with CS and SS..

Other then that it works fine but I still want a gas stove hehehe
