Dragon Tea House
Hello All,
This is an update on my order from Dragon Tea. I recently posted about them in regards to where one can order tea. Even though I praised them on their great service, awesome selection and all around goodness, my post became overshadowed by my lighthearted comments about their delivery time. My comments were in fun and meant to be taken as such. I am happy today to say that I received my order from them. I placed the order on 17 January, it was compiled and shipped on 21 Jan and received today by me on 04 February!! I challenge you to get something shipped from the other side of the World any quicker than that!! And, free shipping!!?? Again, the items shipped were in perfect condition and so well wrapped. The Gaiwans had me nervous, kinda fragile, but you coulda thrown the package off a ten story building and no harm would have befallen them!! And, again, their generosity was shown by adding a really cool tea towel and a sample of Oolong in with the order!!
Once more, I cannot express how much I like this company. Am I being a cheerleader for them? Yeah, maybe, but their accolades are well deserved!! I also learned that a 400G disc of Mengku Pu-erh is a lot bigger in my hands than it was in my mind. Metric system gets me sometimes!! It looks and smells awesome, can't wait to try it!! Below are a couple pictures of my new babies!!

Thanked: 298Don,
congratulations on your new acquisition!
The gaiwans are very beautiful! The second is the brother with another pattern I have already.
Cheers,

Béla,
Thank you. They are better than I expected, the color of the ice veins one didn't come across as well in the photos I went by when I ordered. It's hard to get the true colors right, but having one to look at, I could mess with the shade and stuff till it looked like it's supposed to. I think I now have enough tea and tea toys to keep me happy for quite a long time. Along with the gaiwans, I received some Premium Golden Snail, Organic Black Pearl, Apple Flavoured Black Tea and the 400G of Old Tree Tea Mengku Pu-erh 2006.
I took the gaiwan pictures with them on the towel they gave me, I love it!! Please pass along my thanks and gratitude to your friend at Dragon Tea!!
Oh yeah, I also found some spoons and saucers done in the rice eye pattern like my teacups in a little import store in Chico Ca, just up the road from me. THEN, I'll be set!!

Well, thanks Mick! I do appreciate nice things, the budget doesn't always allow for it, but I figure if I don't drop them, they will last. I think that's why I like the people and things on this board. I love to see someone get a dirty, crudded up razor or thing, and transform it into a thing of beauty!
Oh, BTW, I saw it was your Birthday! I was going to wish you a happy birthday, but, I figured by the time I saw it, I was already at least a day or two behind. You did point out that I'm a day behind you with no chance of catching up! But, Happy Belated Birthday to you!!!

1600, tea time!! I just had to try out some new tea in my new toy!! Organic Black Pearl in the Ge Yao Celadon Gaiwan. The tea was good, not a "must have on hand", but good. The gaiwan was harder to pour from than the other one, more practice is needed!!

Thanked: 1160The second link which is to the actual Factory in Tula Russia seems to have much better pricing....I would actually renig on the first link and say stay away from it as it seems to maybe have black undertones. If I have learned anything about russian goods in my almost 3 year interest in Russian culture,it's beeeee careful. Since Russia is opening up to the west there are alot of scammers out there who will sell you a glass sneaker for $5000 if they can get away with it.I'm almost not kidding. I really had to search for my Podstakkanik to find the real McCoy at a reasonable price. One time in my web travels I came across a company selling regular nickel alloy Podstakkaniks for over $1000.00. It's that whole hey there westerners..get a piece of cold war history while supplies last mentality.

Great looking pieces, Don.
There might be some competition here, Don. I ordered a travel/office gaiwan seen here in this post. Ordered on 1/13/13 and at my door by 1/24/13."My guiding principles in life are to be honest, genuine, thoughtful and caring." -Prince William
