Thanked: 1160Okay guys.....my Kusmi tea from Kusmi came in. All in all the service was not too bad. They had a little trouble with my shipping address, but we got it sorted out. The nice thing about getting the tea directly from Kusmi is A) More selection obviously and B)I can get bigger tins . So I do recommend buying direct from the source now. I still give cred to Cardullos though, they never did me wrong. Cheers ....

Thanked: 1160A note on Samovars Not trying to deter anyone here who may be interested in buying one as I would love one myself someday, but something to take into consideretion before buying. The concentrated tea in the pot that sits on top (called Zavarka) is very strong according to Kusmi to make a cup of tea the ratio is 1 tsp. loose tea per cup. According to The cook book put out by Russian life magazine Called A Taste of Russia, it's 1 teaspoon loose tea per 1/2 cup water. Most Samovars are 2 liter at the smallest. Samovars are made for all day drinking with families tapping at it at will . We all know that tea aint cheap . So unless you drink more than approx two pots a day or have more than one person in the house hitting on the samovar, it can get expensive. Just food for thought is all .......or....... somthing to ponder over a cup of tea.

heh
im pleasantly surprised to find a tea-dedicated thread on here
i first came here chasing waterstone info
then my retired local barber asked me if i could dispose of his razors, so i joined here
but hes never excavated them from his shed, not yet anyway
and since i have the stones for it, i thought id acquire a few razors online, see if i can hone em
altho its years since ive shaved, i do have a brush
and now a Ator ERN, and a TheMab, even a ol Henkotsu in the mail from Japan
ive not settled on any favorite tea
but i do have a favorite pot

Well I received my order from Yuuki Cha:
From left to right—Magokoro fukamushi sencha from Kagoshima Prefecture, powdered sencha (for consumption at work!) from Kyoto, an oolong from Gokase Town, Miyazaki Prefecture and finally a re-supply of Uji matcha from Kyoto.
Pics of the actual tea will follow as and when the packets are opened—the sencha will probably be over the weekend, as I just used up the last of my previous packet; the powdered sencha on Monday and the oolong...soon.
