I was in Rome a few days ago, and ran across a place called MUZIO, Via Vittorio Emanuele Orlando, 77, 00185 Roma, Italy
+39 06 488 3529. They had in their case, a few Mastro Livi razors, including a giant Sweeny Todd monster that I couldn't believe. Had I not been tapped out, I would have picked up at least one.
Cheers,
Jack

Simply perfect. Simply superb. The more I use this Mastro Livi straight razor the more I like it. I am about to leave and to go back home, so a good shave is the right thing to do before starting packing. Not to mention how good is this RWL34 steel in shaving: keen, deep and sharp, it gives a super smooth shave. I love this razor! The RazorGuy - StraightRazorChannel on Youtube and Google+

Thank you! I am glad you like my Mastro Livi razor!
Despite the perspective may be deceiving, It is a French point. Scales are made from African black ebony. The RazorGuy - StraightRazorChannel on Youtube and Google+

Thanked: 4206Ahh the French vs irish debate..
We are both right then,, depending on your love of poutine or guiness will dictate which you call it..
;-)
Does Maesto still make razors? Someone told me he's retired/ish and doesn't make them anymore.
Hope it's just a rumour as I'm still working on an Italy trip next year with the Mrs and really want to get to Perugia to meet and observe, ideally purchase a razor from him whilst there..
Again, love it..

As far as I can tell, French and Irish point are pretty similar although different. The upper part is practically the same, whereas the bottom part is "pointy and spiky" for French point, rounder in Irish point. Despite of this, the debate goes on!
Mastro Livi is alive and kicking! He is not even thinking about retiring, in this moment he is working in renovating his workshop while planning to make more and more straight razors, strops and brushes!
If you are planning to visit Perugia (Oh yes! My beautiful city!) as well as to visit Mastro Livi, I am sure he will be more than happy to welcome you in his workshop. Looking forward in meeting you in Perugia, then! The RazorGuy - StraightRazorChannel on Youtube and Google+

I guess I have an idea of what May have happened. I however guess you could be more explicit and share it? We are very curious here. Quite indeed!
