STROP: Kanayama Cordovan #30000
RAZOR: Bonsa (Böntgen & Sabin)
SHAVE: 2 passes, WTG / XTG
AS: Castle Forbes After shave Balm
RESULT: Very smooth shave

A terrible sad loss here with Mark's passing, teaches us all to live life to the fullest...
and Mark if you are still logged in, know that you will be missed here....


My shave this morning was all new,,
Semogue Excelsior 1305 Boar Bristle Shaving Brush, new bottle of Pinaud's Clubman and a new to me Wacker 6/8 Spanish point...
The lather was MWF simple as can be.. a new puck carved with my old Schrade "Uncle Henry" pocketknife into small shavings and pressed into the Soap bowl you see

I re-honed the Wacker on a full set of Naniwas last night... 1-3-5-8-10-12

The shave was smooth and comfortable, the Clubman I really like, I added my normal 2 drops of Glycerin per Oz. of Aftershave to the bottle the day I got it, which always leaves the face soft to the touch...

+1 I don't think I've ever seen so many Gem and other SE safety razors on the SOTD thread. Well done fellas, bravo, quite well played indeed. In Mark's honor, I'll be shaving with a SE razor until next Wednesday (although regretably I don't own a Valet Autostrop.)

Indeed. I'll be devirginizing my NOS Autostrop for this. Can't think of a better reason to be honest...

As most of you know I don't normally post here. My quick pics cannot compete with the artistic quality readily displayed here on a daily basis.
Today is different, this group has convened to embrace the time we had with a friend.

When I first thought of dedicating my shave to Mark I initially thought it appropriate to shave my head riverside with my fillet knife, but with our recent rainfall and my lumpy head I quickly changed my mind.
I then reached for a GEM this evening when I remembered a conversation I had with Mark last week.
He knew my passion for all things Waterville and offered to sell me one. While we weren't able to complete the sale in time I remembered that I had a Waterville similar to his, while not the same as shaving with his razor I pulled out and stropped up this razor anyway.
