Post Week of July 24 SOTD - Tuesday

    Pre-Shave: Hot shower
    Brush: 23mm Shavemac Silvertip Badger
Maxterpiece: 13/16" Frederick Reynolds, Wedge, Barber's Notch (w/ Red G10 scales)
Strop: 45/70 (Neil Miller Linen / Ambrose Horse Hide Clásico leather)
Überlather: RazoRock Ltd. Ed. Shave Soap+ Glycerin
Toner: Thayer's Witch Hazel (Rose Petal, no alcohol)
    Moisturizer: Trumper's Fragrance-free Moisturizer
    After Shave Splash: Proraso AS
After Shave Balm: eShave "Almond" ASB
Results: I received my new RazoRock Limited Edition soft shave soap yesterday and took it out for a ride today. Paul (aka, Str8shooter) was right. This tallow-based soap is amazing and can hold her water quite well indeed. The Shavemac whipped up one heck of a creamy, shiny lather with lots of elasticity. Not to mention the obvious; great cushion and glide. The lovely almond scent for to die for (almost like Acca Kappa 1869). I am happy I got 3 (2 are in the fridge ) along with a XXX and Cacao scented one. I was not disappointed with the performance. Thanks for the tip Paul . Of course, this lather deserved nothing but one of the best razors to go with it...Hence the Frederick Reynolds. This blade was rescaled by Max some time ago in beautiful red G10. Her edge felt as if she was fresh off the stones. Sharp and smooth (just the way I like it) and no sound in her action mode. She may look like a bubbly blade with that red dress, but looks can be deceiving...She's quite stealthy and deadly serious and a force to reckon with. An EXTRAORDINARY shave to say the least . Everything in life should be as wonderful, every day.

I wish you a SPECTACULAR Tuesday guys.

    Robert, Rune & Grant,

Yeah I now have a "pack" of 4 Bengalls. I'm working on some new scales for them. I plan on keeping at least 2 of them because they really are excellent shavers. I love the "india" reference as I'm British colonial history buff. I traded some vintage blades and a cologne for the coticule. The guy says he thinks it is "Most likely La Veinette." Honestly I don't know one from another. I honed a few razors on it last night though and am very pleased. The edges look more "mirror" smooth than with my 12 Chinese water stone.

No shave for me since I shaved last night

    Default Tuesday

Pre-Shave: A cold shower after a 3 hour bike ride.
Brush: Simpson Polo 12, 2-band Super Badger
Razor: Robert Williams Custom, 8/8" Spanish point in Mother of Pearl scales
Strop: Neil Miller Custom Cordovan Shell/Genuine linen strop
    Soap/Cream: Truefitt&Hill 1805 Shaving Cream
    Scuttle:Schwarzweisskeramik, Large White
    Astringent: Alum
    After shave Balm: Truefitt&Hill 1805
    EdT: Truefitt&Hill 1805
Results: A fine half hour in the shave den. I'm so impressed with RW's work, and this piece is no exception. A brilliant shaver. The big Simpson is a true performer as well. Cream or soap, it treats both with the same ease, generating mounds of wonderful lather

Today's SOTD gave a very nice result, enjoyed it so much I did four passes instead of three.
Decided to touch the old girl up on the Charnley and strop on some newspaper till she was popping hairs like a poacher with an Uzi

Enjoy the rest of the week folks.

    You are right my friends.
I didn't feed the Livi to The Shark. :-) I must have been tired this morning.
    It is corrected now.

Well red is the colour of passion and love, and Robert my heart's a fluttering looking at that red vixen of a razor you have as your shave of the day, she's so hot she's smoking!

    Default Tuesday the 26th

    July 26 SOTD
Prep: hot shower and lingering lather
    Brush: Rooney Silvertip
    Soap: Fitjar Såpekokeri Fjellheim
Razor: Geo. Wostenholm & Son “The Conqueror”
    Post: Witch Hazel

A nice morning and a relaxing two pass shave. The Conqueror was a little harsh and could probably use a fine touch on the hones; my inexperience affords me ample opportunity to retouch minor errors and learning experiences on the hones have been ample to say the least.
Now all I need is coffee... there appears to be none in the house.
Have good day gentlemen, great shaves and pictures thus far!

Robert, I made a mistake actually; they're eight (seven straights and one DE open comb).
However you've probably seen most (if not all) of them here before. I got them all off our own Mikael.
Terrific to deal with, he shipped them to me in no time and also included a lovely free gift.
All razors are in top shape, and I cannot thank Mikael enough for all this.
