Its back to work tomorrow, I spent the afternoon with the wife and kids down at the beach, and planned to enjoy a nice relaxing shave tonight.
Unfortunately I somehow managed to cut myself under the nose and bled like a stuck pig.
Probably the worst bloodbath of my shaving career... Still a good shave though

Thats gotta be hard, I'm going back tomorrow after 12 days off, and I'm not looking forward to it at all.
Glad you and the razor survived the dropping incident mate.

Cool, did you set the bevel on a normal bevel setter and then use the progression or Barber Hones?

I wanted to use a BH the whole way but the razor i picked was in bad shape. I had to use my Chosera. It took a while even on my chosera.

Kikuboshi Special | Nomad + DR Harris Lavender | Simpson Chubby 2 | Thayers Lavender | Sabon ASB | Hermessence Santal Massoia

I hadn't shaved since Thursday, so I was really looking forward to this shave! The Nomad/Harris überlather was sheer heaven. The woodiness of the Nomad combined perfectly with the lavender scent of the DR Harris. And we are all familiar with how these two top-shelf products perform separately. Let me tell you, they are even better in combination. The thick luxurious lather was applied with the Simpson 2-band Chubby, which felt like a pillow on my face. The razor, for its part, was impeccable. These Japanese western style straights really take a buttery smooth, yet keen, edge. I was BBS in no time, and ready to go back to work (or at least as ready as I'll ever be)...

    Prep: Hot Shower
Razor: Lecran Cutlery Extra Hollow Ground
    Brush: VDH Boar
    Soap: Arko Shavestick
    AS: Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Finish: Brute Cologne

This was the third of 3 razors touched up on Saturday morning. Of the 3, this one started in the best shape but naturally the edge was a bit more crisp. Nice shave this morning. Two passes, good enough.

The older I get, the better I was

    Default Glen's Grinding

Well as promised I needed to put up some pics of Glen's custom made razor. So here is the SOTD:

Strop: Star Shaving 3" 40 on felt 60 on leather
    Soap: MWF
    Brush: Parker Best Badger
Post Shave: Nothing needed but a cold rinse

Results: Wow. This was the smoothest shave ever! I have never experienced a smoother shave with any of my straights yet. There were no nicks, weepers, nor irritation. In fact, I TRIED to irritate my neck with pressure. I tried even more pressure and still no irritation. I took 4 passes and I needed no AS, skin food or anything else.

P.S. I did need to use another razor since it didn't get as close as I wanted, but no irritation
In another thread I will be posting more pics of the razor in use by my son (it was a Christmas present for him). My daughter shaved her legs with it twice this weekend as well!
