I woke up this morning, looked myself in the mirror and realised that my 13/16" Bengall did an excelent job yesterday!
So I desided to have an one pass shave with a DE.

    Prep - None
    Strop - 3 inch bridle leather/hard felt
Razor - DD No 1 Special
Brush - Simpsons QE II Jubilee Manchurian badger
Soap - Arko pressed into a bowl
Post - Alum block followed with Thayers witch hazel.

Loaded the brush in the bowl and had a great cold water face lathered shave. A welcome change from yesterdays debacle with the W&B near wedge. I hadn't used Arko in a while and appreciate it even more now after using some highly touted soaps recently. For me it gives away very little if anything to those more expensive soaps. Hope your shave was as good or better, enjoy the day.

    Monday

I shave in the evening and I had to work late at work so no time for pictures last night . Will try and post some shave pron pictures tonight! Anyway, the tools used last night were as follows:

    Razor: 7/8 Friodur 472
    Brush: Omega 75th anniversary silvertip
    Soap: MWF
    AS: Trumper lime skin food

    Have a great day gents!

    Prep: Hot Shower
Razor: Theirs Issard 7/8, horn scales
    Strop: Illinois 827
    Brush: AOS Fine Badger
    Cream: T&H Trafalgar
    A/S: Floid Blue

Result: I am fortunate in that I have a handful of fine creams and soaps, like this T&H Trafalgar; however, I am able to get just as fine a shave and just as much enjoyment from a soap like Williams Mug Shaving Soap. This razor, just like the other seven that I have, is an incredible shaver when the edge is dialed in. Blood free and BBS is a good combo for a weekday morning. Off to work! Enjoy your day.
