Pre : Hot water, Old Spice preshave wash, Proraso pre-post cream
Soap : Mitchell's Wool Fat
Brush : Turkish "No.6"
Razor : 1920's Gillette old type
Blade : Feather
Post : Cold water, Proraso pre-post cream
Finish : BBS
Comments :
I'm in love with this razor and blade combo. A fresh Feather in the razor, taking care to balance the blade whilst securing it, and the day-old stubble simply brushed off.
Now, Galileo says it's 23°C, that means it's G&T'O'Clock. Cheers.~ Dave ~ ... back to lurking...

I bought this razor on Ebay, and after I got it, it went into my "drawer of shame". I had bought an razor that couldn't be used. It had a VERY big frown, warped, cell rot scales and I had no idea what to do with it. I took it to a straight razor meet in Yakima, just to show what not to buy. Then I heard, "Oh, we can fix that, what kind of scales do you want"? Gerrit made a pattern and whipped out some cherry wood scales in twenty minutes!! Glen, of gssixgun fame, took the frown out by doing some of the craziest things one would ever think you could do with a hone. I wish I had it on video, he did things to it that shouldn't be done, or so I thought, and in only a couple minutes the frown was gone!! The finish wasn't dry by the time I left the next day,(over 600 mile drive home), but Gerrit finished it up, honed it and sent it to me. This razor has truly been reborn. From a life destined to be forgotten in the drawer of shame, to a razor I look forward to in my rotation.
Silence is Golden, but duct tape is Silver.
