You think? With collars? Didn't really check it that was just an assumption based on the collars.

Thanked: 4827My thought was ivory too, but I’m just guessing from those pictures. It looks like a big project, but if it’s not too bad you will be able to sand that nice without too much time.

Thanked: 315If those dark spots are just dirt, it is definitely possible. Try to get some clearer close-up shots.
If it is ivory and you still don't want it.... lol
If you decide to repair it and do a Mike-arta liner (Outback invisible liner to stabilize crack) I can send you some fiberglass liner material. That will work for bone or ivory. You would need some strong epoxy though. It is so thin you can layer it to make it even stronger if it needs it. I've got several sets of scales I'm hoping to save using Mike's method.- Joshua

I don't know. I'm still pretty sure that's bone. The other thing is if I were to reuse them it would have to be for a shorty project because the one has an end chipped off. Unless I did a bolster on it or something like that. That could look okay I guess

Thanked: 4827The one side does appear to me to be bone, the front side. The back side I’m not so sure about. It seems it was not uncommon to replace a broken ivory scale with a bone one. I have a couple that are definitely bone on one side and ivory on the other. So if you replace those, save that back scale and clean it up. You never know when you might need it.

You know I thought that too Shaun. Looking at them the one side: mmm, maybe. The other side: nah, I don't think so. I honestly never thought that there might be a mix.
