I can send 15 or 20. How much practice you want.
Off-topic but I finished one on my Zulu this morning that ended up with a very keen edge. Surprised me. Guess I need to break out my Arkie next. It's just Sharpening, right?

Yeah, that Zulu is a killer finisher in my book, the shady recent business practices of its founder notwithstanding-I now have a great one from another source.
Let me get that big beast in and burnished, with edges dressed, and I'll tell you to send me a few. There are many roads to sharp.

Finally got this Wade and Butcher Special in. It's been lost in the mail system for 2 weeks. It got all the way to town and said Out For Delivery then vanished. Just starting to think it was lost for good and it showed up
Anyone ever seen one with the "Special" on the blade face with these scales before? I never have. It doesn't look like a rescale but maybe. These with the "Special" on the blade face are probably my "if I had to pick one favorite," favorite.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Thanked: 4827I’m chuckling quietly as I read your post. Two weeks is record time for me. It often says put for delivery for seven to ten days, then changes to notice left, then the next day, I can pick it up at the post office. I do realize most of the civilized world gets better service.
I’m glad it showed.

Paul-I don't know if that's a rescale; it sure looks like one. In any event, you've got your work cut out for you with that edge-lots of swiss cheese right under the "Special." Let us know if it will take an even bevel.

Aaron, I think it looks worse in the picture than it actually is. looking at it in the hand it doesn't really look that bad. I was concerned about that in the eBay pictures also but in person it looks like mainly surface rust which should scrape off fairly easily. Hell I'm such a sucker for these things I was willing to take the chance. I'll let you know.
You're saying you think it does look like a rescale huh? See I'm looking at the pins and they don't look like a DIY job and I don't see scrapes or punctures from the pins being drilled or filed but maybe it was done by someone who was really good.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. Well you live in God's country don't you Shaun? There's ups and downs about everything I guess. See I live in the suburbs and I hate it but, the mail comes on time. I would much rather be 10 mi from nowhere but the little woman must live in suburbia so here I am. The things we do to satisfy women eh?

Actually it cleaned up alright.
The edge had some microchips for sure but it honed out with 2 layers of tape fairly well. This is just about 5-10 minutes.on the 220.
There's just 1 or 2 little spots I'm still concerned about just heel end of the cross behind the letters.
Hopefully it will home out okay.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend. PR 27:17

Thanked: 104I just put a blade IN the mail, heading to Akron. An ancient Roberts Warranted will be getting the new start on life that it deserves, and will be coming back to me in much better shape than when I shipped her off. It was rough when I found it, better when I worked on it, and I am sure Outback will make her a peach of a thing.
