I like those striped towels for shaving. I can't quite tell, but yours look green on my computer screen. My shave den happens to be a green plam trees type motif. So I bought THREE packs of these green stripe towels from Amazon about 5 years ago while they had them. The green has been sold out for quite some time since then so I am glad I got them I have only opened one pack to this date. Each pack has 12 towels (14" x 25") so more than I'll probably use in a lifetime; I'll probably use the first 12 pack for another 5 years then open the 2nd pack and rotate them in. I'll probably never get to the third pack. I think I paid 12 bucks a pack, so a dollar a towel.

Cool. I didn't know Arko came in pucks. I bought a dozen sticks a year or two ago cause I couldn't get my VDH anymore and Arko was the cheapest soap that actually works fairly well. I been shredding it and pressing it into my mug, and pucks would be a lot more convenient. As soon as I run out of the sticks... maybe 2029?

Yes the stripes are green. Looks like the same towels. I bought just three towels but they were still only $1.50 each. I too can't seem to find Van der Hagen. I don't like the smell of the Arko. I'm not a fragrance kind of guy. I just don't really like scented stuff on me. That's one reason I use the lye soap for shaving. It smells like animal fat and lye and that's it. It doesn't leave a lot of foamy lather to map by but it stays slicker than owl $#!+.

The interesting thing is I got Anosmia from the Zicam swabs 10 years ago. About 6 months to a year ago it started to come back a little but I didn't recognize the smells. Then just about 3 weeks to a month ago it all came back all at once. I mean it was like the floodgates opened. Your sense of smell is a double-edged sword. Yeah I couldn't smell coffee or roses or good food cooking but I also couldn't smell the dog farts or the garbage truck going by. I wish you could choose which smells you could smell and which smells you can't.

Steve, got my new XL size Vie Long Horsehair. Bought it from Amazon but it was shipped directly from China via expidited airmail. First Amazon item I have ever bought that was shipped directly from China on behalf of Amazon. Odd. GREAT BRUSH! Need to get that out there first. It is destined to be my favorite. But this is the FIRST Vie Long I have had that does have a lingering odor. Not a bad odor, but a lingering terpentine type odor. I'm guessing it's a dye or curing odor from manufacture. I've washed it with Dial Antibacterial and rinsed it with wintergreen alcohol (my trick) multiple times and the odor is down 80 percent but still there (slightly). I suspect it will be gone by the end of next week with use and rinsings and more wintergreen alcohol. Just letting you know in case you get a Horesehair that has a manufacturing odor. You can get rid of it. Just have a bit of patience. It's worth the effort. I love Horsehair.
