NICE saw, Mike! I've been thinking of upgrading myself. My old bench-top Delta is pitifully under-powered, and tracks about like a drunk on the highway. If I get seriously into bowl-turning, I may need a 14" floor model for re-sawing log blanks into rounds. Those can get real pricey!
There are many roads to sharp.

I got a package today i had no clue was coming to me. A couple Canadians ganging up on me. B52 Mike had donated a bunch of turning kits like pens and a razor and stand along with the blanks to use to make them.
Rezdog won it by going beyond what i could aford to spend in the auction. Then he had Mike send it to me after paying. Mike covered the shipping and it was a heavy box.
Thanks to both of them for being such fine members and friends and giving me a wonderful gift. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 4827Well Jerry, I had intended on just donating to Movember this year. This seemed more fun. I am sorry I could not have been a fly on the wall when you received it and opened it. Happy turning my friend!

Thanked: 4206Only regret is how long it took to get there Jerry. Right at the height of Christmas shipping my box gets pulled for a customs inspection??.
Guess it looked pretty freaky in the X-ray box maybe, lol...
And I think I added a couple letter opener kits, those might have looked weaponesk perhaps to an eager inspector
Regardless. Have fun bud, was right cool on Shaun to outbid you, all in fun for the Movember fundraiser this year. Richards hand made stropsocks as always, welcome protective bling for the discerning stropper, and a trippy wall hanging that Tom snatched up.
Blades in various states and rates all bartered amongst members, and as far as I know, all bids were honored and all items received or still being fine tuned. So we all won.
Even in a pandemic we can have fun here with this crew...
Merry belated Christmas..

Thanked: 1587Well, the mailman brought me stuff that was almost the opposite of wet shaving gear today I'm afraid. A bottle of Le Labo beard oil (except they mixed up the order and sent me the roll on deodorant instead - smells quite good so I will keep it I think), a bottle of Margaret River Hemp Co. beard oil (hemp oil-based beard oil), and some stuff from Professor Fuzzyworth: beard shampoo bar, boar beard brush, and some beard balm.
In case you couldn't tell, I am growing a beard...
