Little different find, and didn't come in the mail...

But check out this find, think they're from around 1968-1972 - back when Florsheim made some superbly hand crafted shoes.

These are Florsheim Imperial Longwing shoes, "gunboats", all Goodyear welted, hand crafted, 89 nails in the heel from my research and a V-Cleat, called a "suicide" heel.

Found these very dusty, stuffed in a box locally, used some shoe cleaner first, let them dry, then a good coat of Saphir Cordovan Cream and let it sink in for 24 hours. Then a good brushing.

Check these beauties out - look like they've never been worn.

Florsheim Cordovan Imperial Longwing Bluchers, number is 93605, V-Cleat, quality of these in the day is better than Alden ( I have several Alden shoes and boots) and many others in my opinion.

    Behold!

My dad would only wear Florsheim. Said they were the most comfortable and longest wearing.

I bought some Florsheim shoes more modern than the ones previously mentioned. They had poly urethane soles and the soles disintegrated on me at a wedding.

Chunks of rubber all over the place! A big laugh at the wedding. The uppers stayed in one piece.

I will never buy them again!

    • Le Labo beard oil
    • 2 bars of beard conditioner (hum if you know the tune!! lol)
    • Kanayama 30K Strop
