I needed (Needed, Ha) A bowl gouge, and after a little time on the lathe, I'm starting to understand the differences in tool quality. So I splurged and bought one.

5/8 Bowl gouge with handle from Carter and Sons.

I put a wrap on the handle as it's cold as hell to hold being aluminum. The picture was taken with my hand in it for size comparison.

I also talked Aaron into getting one of these but he went even bigger than mine. These damn things aren't cheap but they come with a lifetime warranty and they are made of M42 steel so the edge will last much longer.

My wife told me that bidet was french for drinking fountain. I still don't fully understand why she got a drinking fountain that i have to kneel down to drink from.

lol! Yeah, it's one of those Japanese toilet sets that clean (warm water) and then dry. The one I got also has a heated seat and a "massage" function (don't ask....) and is self cleaning with silver something or other.

Been thinking of one for years not only for hygene and health but also for saving on loo roll. We'll see.

Yes, sorry - I like innuendo even when none really exists. The massage function is the toilet seat itself, and the "massage" is certain pulsing heat zones apparently. Get a glute workout while you "multitask". I think it is probably a gimmick to be frank.

Hiya Jim. Best upgrade for the throne we made.
Hardest thing is running a gfi down on the floor near the toilet to plug it in, if you don’t have one already, which I did not.
Ours doesn’t have a massage feature, but is heated water, and seat, and even has a led night light, which is surprisingly awesome as it’s inside so just throws a blue glow around the edge when the seats down, but is enough light in the middle of the night that you don’t need to turn on the bathroom light anymore in the wee hours,,
    wee hours,, get it,, lol..
Also the air dryer feature is kinda nonsense, as it takes too long, IMO to dry the area, so I still use TP.
Great overall though cause it’s clean, it’s warm to sit on a cold winters night, and for the misses, extra features too.
Never would have bought one till last years toilet paper shortage, but happy I did..

You can get...not sure how you would call it...a GFI circuit adapter? It is like a really short extension cord with a GFI circuit in it so you can plug it into any ole plug. Mine probably came from the construction area in the hardware store, but they may have daintier pretty ones for your fung schwey bathroom.
