You guys are EVIL! After reading all the glowing reviews of this magical shaving soap, and wrestling with my wallet for weeks, I finally broke down and ordered the Marin de Candre in the wooden bowl, along with a couple of bars of bath soaps. Now the agony of the waiting...
I have been faithful to the I Coloniali mango cream soap for several months, neglecting the other 30 or so soaps and creams on the shelf, as I find the scent intoxicating, and the cushion/moisturizing of I Coloniali suits me perfectly. Is there anyone here who appreciates the I Coloniali as I do, who can give me some idea as to how it compares with the Martin de Candre?

This is SO far outside my pay grade! But I went ahead and bought some that was posted on the B & B forums. I think I could've bought 4 tubs of TOBS for the price I paid ($63). Gulp.....
I'm gonna have to sell some one of my straights to make up for this

Hello,DMHarper:
I Coloniali mango soap is one of my preferred soaps. I have it in the pottery bowl. And yes, the fragrance is intoxicating. Lather, glide and cushion are good, too. It's one of the better soaps around. Martin de Candre is in its own class, but there are many other good soaps out there. I Coloniali is one of them.
Regards,
Obie

Has anyone thought about attempting a group buy?

I could have sworn I saw someone post that they had contacted the store and offered this, but as this is still a relatively small business, that it wouldn't happen.
Damn you, Obie! Look what you've started!
On the other hand, I DID just convince my wife that $150 of next month's budget is going toward MdC's soaps. Yeah, it was a bribe.
Although, if she doesn't like it, Obie, I'm a dead man. I'll just tell her that Obie made me do it, then point her North, toward Milwaukee.

Thanked: 48If you don't mind I would like to add to the order about 5 or 6 soaps of my own...
1 l'Ami
1 Le Domino
1 Cafet
1 Le Cannele
1 Perle
1 Le bol en Bois
1 of a nice aftershave if they have one
and one of those wooden soap storage boxes that someone on here mentioned that they sell...
i am assuming these are all different variations of the shave soap i got from them which is the ultimate shave soap for me. if these are just different packaging of the same soap someone please let me know as i do not speak french. only live once, might as well do it right... this order should probably last me that long and still give me something to hand down to the next generation

AFAIK there is only two versions of the shaving soap, scented and unscented, the difference is the packaging.
