They sent me a bunch of samples with the order. A bunch of large sized soaps and bottles of shampoo. I wonder how much that added to the shipping-har har.

    My dear thebigspendur:

That is a good point. They sent me a sample of their soap and shampoo. The soap, which I use as a face wash, is incredible. I've never looked so Hollywood. The shampoo is superb, too, although I float around the world like a '39 Cadillac with the top down.

These people are artists of the highest order with what they've created. I don't know what they do to Martin de Candre, but this stuff is magical. Oh, dear, now I can't wait till tomorrow morning comes so that I can lather up again with Martin de Candre.

Only if these characters knew how much publicity we're giving them . . .

    Regards,

    Obie

    Gentlemen,

I just received my jar of Martin De Candre from a group buy arranged by an SRP member. The fragrance, as thebigspendur noted, is oh sooo delightful.

Even as a group buy, it wasn't cheap. Still, I think it was worth every penny. Can't wait to try it!

Well, Gents, all I can add is that I am now fascinated by this soap but absolutely entranced by the Postage & Packing!
    Which reminds me......

TV Game Show Host: "Congratulations Artie, you've won tonight's Star Prize! Let's open the curtains....and here it is! This year's top of the range Cadillac De Ville Fleetwood Brougham convertible fully loaded in metallic gold, all yours with our compliments and here are the keys!"

Mother in audience: "Give 'em back, Artie! My God, the insurance on that thing will have us in the poor house!"

I just received my MDC in the mail yesterday...Thank you "Bladerunner001" I just got done shaving with my DD GE spike. All I can say is "WOW"....It is worth every penny. I'm not really a soap guy. I prefer creams. Martin De Candre is most definitely a hand packed hard soap with a vey cool rustic look. Your not scooping this stuff out. I got the 170g bowl which reminds me of a big bowl of cream cheese. Very aromatic. You can smell the French Lavender and Mint come through which makes a very unique fragrance. I'm a scuttle lather'r, so I that's just what I did. MDC had no trouble in the scuttle. Very impressive lather, cushion and glide, and very very moisturizing. I read something somewhere about Methol...? I didn't get that..Thank God, because I'm not a fan of Mentol. If it has it, I didn't notice it...

If your on the fence about this because of the shipping, Don't be...It's worth every penny, you will be impressed.....A keeper for sure. It goes to the top of my soap list....

Thank you to Obie and the other members who found this wonderful soap...You've satisfied my SAD.

    My dear Str8Shooter,

Thank you for the kind words. It is my pleasure. What makes all this worth it is the sharing with friends. That's priceless.

    Stay well.

Nooooooo! I just found this thread and the overwhelming praise for this soap left me with a burning desire, no, a definitive NEED to own this soap. I went to the website with the intention to immediately purchase this soap to satisfy the empty place in my soul. To my amazement and consternation the site is under maintenance and now I will have to spend the rest of my afternoon suffering as if stuck in the fires of hades.

    Thanks alot guys.
