I've had a King straight razor that has needed attention & I did something with it yesterday. Part of the round point was chipped off so I made it a square point. I figured that was best because if I had made it a round point again, it may have lost some length but this way if it did lose any, it is thousandths of an inch.

I ended up with some time in my hands today so I grabbed another easy one out of the box. I'm running out of these quickies.

I'm caught up on my razor projects so I dug out the next 3 that will get some work.
1. Joseph Rodgers and Sons, Sheffield, Rodgers Best on the blade. Half Hollow 11/16 at the widest part of the blade. Warped Horn scales, loose pins, rust that will be leaving some pitting. Wont be a beauty but I think it will turn out good enough for my collection of this and that and others.

2. NO NAME besides being stamped BUHS on one side of the tail and Germany on the other side of the tail. 11/16, full hollow in plastic scales. Spotty rust, NO hone ware, heal still full. I'd say its got the factory edge on it still. Bevel is so tiny I had to use a magifier to see it.

3. Genco, Clasified on the tail. Plastic wood grain scales Hone ware at the tip and tip is a bit thinner than the rest but not terribly honed off. Pins are tight and scales not warped or cracked. The Word Genco is worn a lot but still readable. very little rust. The heal/stabilizer is going to need worked a bit then I'll put a little smile on it and clean-up and is should be just fine. Should end-up being a 4/8 when done.

So there you go. My projects for the next couple months in between working to keep all of you good folks rolling with fuel. Well, besides Texas. Sorry. They wont let me take a load of fuel down south. I even asked/volunteered.

I got a start.
Took the no name apart at the pivot. Cleaned the blade and scales with Synthetic Steal Wool and Blue Magic. Started to pin back together being really happy with myself. Thinking this was an easy one when... Crack. The rear scale popped the tip off of it. I hadn't even try to peen anything yet. Oh well, Guess I'll just bolt it together for now and wait till next weekend.
Might be able to find a replacement for it.

Nice work happening here guys. Steve the round-to-square repair turned out great. Some really nice clean ups and projects going.

I found a strop for $1 at the flea market a few weeks ago, just the leather, no hardware, no linen. Needs cleaning but it's not nicked up and is still supple. It says "Genuine Shell and Rose's Barber Supply House, Waterloo, IA." I have a length of linen for it, so I've been on the hunt for some hardware.

Well, today I found one with hardware that will work. Check out how DRY this sucker is! But, the hardware is good, just needs a little clean and polish, and soon I'll have a working strop out of the deal.

Dug thru the drawer and found some more black plastic scales. Not exactly the same so had to use them as a set. They are i touch wider but a little shorter. And got a little more curve to them. Glad I've been saving this stuff. Polish and pinned. Used stack washers with brass. Ready for the stones next week.
I'd still like to know if anyone has seen these marking before.
