No kidding! Here are the 2 strops which came from Japan with the Red Imp sleeves...
All that 'Certifyd and Made in USA' stuff was all about the leather, I think.
So back to the razors, My Morris Imp has a white wedge. The definition on the Devil is much better.
I should think it will scan much more accurately?

I have some others. Of course the one that gets the most use is my large Livi loom strop. I also have 2 Neil Miller strops, one of them being the longest one he ever made. I have a Shumate that looks new & a WR Case that shows some minimal wear but is much older & in pretty decent shape for its age. There you see my Livi strop which has been well used but still has lots of life in it, my Neil Miller strops, which you can tell the difference between, then a pic of the larger one's back side. Neil used Horween shell. Then in the last you see my WR Case & my Shumate. The Shumate is very soft & appears to be like shell horsehide like my Miller & Koken strops. I have a Green Lizard but it needs some work.

I was mistaken about my 700C, Steve. It is a well-loved Certifyd Russian from a barber in Japan.
The hardware looks like the Red Imp strop, but the linen looks Kanoyama to me.
I bought it and another, older Tokyo shell which belonged to the same barber.
The seller was quite knowledgable as his father had been a barber's supply distributor for many years.
He assured me they both came from Kanoyama. I wish you guys could just run your palm down this.
Very thick leather. Amazing!

Tom, if I ever come by, I will run my hand down it. It looks as smooth as a baby's butt! I'll have to bring the Koken & Shumate with me. They're very soft also. Anyone with a Neil Miller strop already knows.
A couple years ago there was a thread about strops & someone asked whether there was a company that made the hardware for strops & then I found this on eBay about two or three months after that & I missed it with no bidders so I sent the seller a message & they resisted it. Someone then put a bid on it, but I got it. I know for a fact there was one company but I bet there were others because I have seen others that had different hardware than this company offered.

Take my advice, or not; get them out of storage and run them back and forth bent around a table leg or table top edge. I put one away for a few years and it was dry and needed love to get back to its gory.
Try the method with another strop till you get the hang of it. Mine got to be at 90degree bend around a table edge and no wrinkles!

Good advise, Richard! Gotta take them out and rub them on occasion.
TBH, it hurts nothing to take them out and actually use them on occasion either..

I recently showed my strop covers. I'm very happy with the outcome but... I find, finding the one I'm wanting to be a bit of a pain. I was trying to learn the patterns but I was still guessing. So today I abbreviated the types of leather and did some iron-on letters on the bottoms. The wife says I'm just a Suzy Homemaker now but she's said she is drawing the line when I start to Bedazzle them. Ha. Don't think I'll be going that far with them.
It's just Sharpening, right?
Jerry...
