Got it pinned! Everything cleaned up nicely. Fitting the scales was a bit of a chore on this one, but after lots of tweaking it finally centers well. The collars are from eBay seller sr_manufacture. They take a couple weeks to come from Bulgaria but they’re well worth the wait. He also makes a very nice little tool for test fitting scales that I really like.

Nice job indeed. And I bet that tool would be easier to use than the micro bolts. Nice find!

I put some time into honing a couple razors that I'm having trouble with. No reason to be having issues that I can see. Third time on the stones for both of them and still not popping hair like they should. Shave test came out with pulling and not just slicing thru the whiskers. Had to finish shaving so I'm guess they will wait for next week and a 4th try on the stones. Very disappointing afternoon.

Thanks for the tip BeJay, the collars are nice but I am over the moon for the mock up bolts.

The bolts are awesome! I have been using them for about a year now. I recently misplaced one of my old ones and ordered two more. I really like them and I don’t miss fussing with mico fasteners. Here’s a link.

Gasman. Take those blades back to the bevel setter. When you’re sure the bevels are set... spend a little more time on the bevel setter.

Guess rubber clad weights on my next one.
    What a mess..
On the positive, burls hardened up like they were soaked in viagra.
Those burls are going to be all the more precious now. I think you should reserve them for blades with brands like "Demon" and "Red Imp" and "Ran-tan-ka-rus Red Devil."

Also: you didn't have to visit the emergency room.

So, on balance the important things worked out well!

It may be possible but this has been a real problem for my efforts!

S'ok, Richard. You have done a lot in a short time. The peens look awesome.
    THAT is a monstrous tang!

It will work out great! It certainly looks that way...
