Here's a hoot! I got this Othello a while back.
Interesting Shakespearean character, Othello!
You just don't see these!
Scales had shrunk and warped.
Seems apparent the wedge is toxic. Spider rust at the tips....
Otherwise, sweet 6/8 blade..
Got it apart. Saw the inlay poking through a few places on the back.
Buzzed the back a bit on the wire wheel and popped-it out.
WTF?
Seems the cavity was machined-out and the inlay glued-in.
Some gentle prodding with an exacto-knife separated the picture from the frame.
Looks like Othello is printed and on some paper-board. I guess they poured celluloid on top as it was in the frame?
So.....What do I do now?

Thanked: 2284Sweet scales Tom. Funny, I have one with the same OTHELLO, but mine has M.G. on the backside tang. Same damn blade shape too.

Thanked: 2284Haha. Ya don't need them. I really want to do some nice translucent blue scales on this. Think it would look super.

Look at the tool marks on the back behind the inlay Tom and you can see what they did.
