Saw a headline where some squirrel fed on the bioplastics used in a car’s wiring and other components. I figure your pic is revealing a trend, Tom.

Back in the mid 70's when I was an autobody repairman at a Cadillac/Chevrolet Dealership a lady kept bringing in her brand new caddy complaining that the trunk leaked water. It always had water in the trunk and I'd get it cleaned up and dry and crawl inside that truck to try to find the leak.
I can't tell you how many hours I spent in that damn trunk with a helper spaying water over the area and couldn't find a leak.
Finally one day she came in to complain and I noticed pine needles in the gap between the body parts and commented on it. She said that she parked under her pine trees and that to remove the fallen needles that she would go to the car wash and use the power wand to blow them out but hadn't bothered that day.
She had been forcing water between the gasket seal and the deck lid.
I explained to her what was happening and that she should use something like a shop vac to remove them.
Never saw or heard of her again! Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Brought another of MikeT's razors back to life, last night.
I give to you....The Gray.
No sanding to the blade, just 3M metal restorer, some steel wool, and Flitz on a rag. Scales had a bunch of delamination, which were repaired with CA, sanded to 1000 grt. W/D paper, near week soak in Neatsfoot oil, and polished with Flitz.
Pinned with brass rod, original collars n wedge.
Only one more ta go..!!Mike

Simply amazing transformation!
Thank you Mike!
I really did not think those scales could look that good.
Now I really DO have to get that locked case with laser beams!
Maybe a small fog machine and some small spotlights..
And a squirt gun with cat piss and a trip switch to spray would be thieves in the face (movie reference).

Not funny!! I actually took mine to a dealer because the pine smell was so intense/ chemical that I couldn't tell what it was. Pine needle resin in the heater core. It burned out in a day and I now know what to do when it happens. The library has a lot of Norway pines.

Thanked: 4827Heater cores are usually inexpensive, but the labour is ridiculous. Sorry to hear that Richard.

No biggie but I finally made a shelf for my brushes, out of the way high and dry. My bathroom window.
