But it does involve water and dissimilar metals and other products....

We should get a spectro analysis done to see what it actually is.

Maybe it is an offering to the gods being in scales of Lifetime and the Grim Reaper.

Ended up sticking it in the acetone and using one of the kids old toothbrushes to brush it until it began to move.
No casualties. Successful first inlay removal.

Need to get caught up on the thread. THAT is a project. I seem to remember a couple guys here doing some amazing work reusing bolsters.
    Keep us posted!

Well I have indeed used sacrificial anodes on razors..
Zinc washers for the pivot. Figured it couldn't hurt.
Aluminum is a great metal for anodes, I believe there are 3 metals used depending on how well the object is grounded iirc. Actually there's more to it. Anyway..
A boat in fresh water needs a different metal than one in salt water.
On my tests on stand alone, non grounded metal objects, the protection was visible for a couple millimeters.
I thought of a bag with zinc studs or an aluminum weave..
Or a straight razor case with zinc contact points..
But there are technical considerations that go beyond my pay grade.

I have a double duck that is a cell rot example.

It has sat off to the side away from of others!

I think that this will be a good experiment for me to remove the trim.

One thing that I noticed that I hadn't before and I read about here is the different wedge in these.

But then I got thinking that the third pin shortens the scales by a large amount so the angle would change.

Forgive me if this is old news but it was an aha moment for me.

With a tape measure that happened to be on my desk 3 1/ 4" and 4 5/16.

Its zinc and magnesium, for boats, Mike. Yes there is electrolysis involved with dissimilar metals "submerged" in
    Water.

The biggest problem is stray current coming from shore power connections, to boats with improper AC wiring.

If someone hooks the DC12v ground into the AC ground, you'll be pumping AC voltage into the water surrounding the boat, steel sea walls, ect.

That's why its important that you don't swim inside a marina. Its not enough voltage to say, shock you, but enough to spasm/ immobilize your muscles, which causes u to drown. Nice..eh.!

For me today...I took apart a ol Wolf. Tore its mangy hide off, and stripped it of its fang. A bit of conditioning of the hide, and a good cleaning on the fang, should get this ol bitch snarling again.

A alloy of aluminium and 5% zinc has a potential of -1.05 compared to zinc of - 1.1

Again we need a spectro analysis of that wire........

But for a sacrificial anode, it would have to be bonded to the rest of the metal parts.

Been working on this for a couple months now and finally got it all together. Next step is to get some sort of anvil together and do some forging. No razors right away but maybe some knives or tools, who knows, but i do have lots of ideas.
