Got to give you trouble Tom. I know i can find lots of pics on google.
I like how the scales top edge follows the spine on that one Tom. Makes for a great look.Last edited by Gasman; 12-19-2018 at 04:05 AM.

Thanked: 556That point looks potentially nasty. Do you round it off for safety?

Meh...Not on a shortie, I think. Nice square-point with a rounded grob, IMO.

Mike those scales turned out great! They were broken, not terribly bad, but required some skill to get right... And that you did!
I'll keep sending you tired, poor, huddled masses of blades yearning to cut free hair. The wretched refuse of long past teeming barbershops.. I'll send these, the hone-less, rust-tossed blades to you. And you'll lift your lamp above your golden work-bench.
Hehehe
Jerry, glad the blade made it safe. That blade is so thinly ground that I wonder if the tip extends too far that it will be wobbly. I figured the original tip is what you would go with but Spanish point is very cool, but that little protruding tip is what I worried about being too flexible. Guess you will know when you try it. As far as shaving with spikes and such point tips, I always cut myself. Lol

After getting home this morning i took another look at the blade. Mike T., i think you may be right about this. It is so thin that if it was cut back as a Spanish point there would be nothing to support the tip and the slightest touch would flex it extremely.
I also found a tiny crack about 1/16" long and 1/2" from the stabilizer. This is going to make it difficult to cut down but no impossible. I will just have to be extremely careful and cross my fingers and toes.
So looks like the square point is going to be the best for this grind as i dont want to do a round tip. Sometimes you just have to take another look. It's just Sharpening, right?
