For that color pattern, I think a nice brass wedge and brass collars, Jerry. Or maybe black horn. Just my 2 cents.

Thanked: 4206Thinking that tip screams Spanish profile to me Jerry.
Nice looking scales. Agree, brass accents will make it pop."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

The clip at the spine was just an idea, not exactly to the line. I was just trying to see if it would look right that way. And bringing the tip up so its smiling was another idea that got thrown out quickly. An ever so slight smile would be more to mmy liking.
I did figure on brass hardware but dix not concider a brass wedge. This sounds like a good idea. With it being a little short it might need a little extra weight to balance it out.
Spanish point? I hadnt thought of that. Thats another nice idea. I will need to look at a few and see how that would look. Dont think I have any of those. Thanks Mike and all for the sugestions. BTW, i did plan on thinning the pivot end of the scales a bit. Need to get a good look and see if working both side one one will make it sit better in the scales.Last edited by Gasman; 12-19-2018 at 02:28 AM.

So what’s the best way to cut a blade without trashing the temper?

Thanked: 4827The couple I have done, I laid the blade on a nearly frozen wet sponges that sat in a fairly flat plate with some water in it and cut it with a zip disc on a Dremel. I kept the speed low and cut from the edge towards the spine and finished it on a series of diamond plates. One of them I put a notched point on it.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I have done the same except on high speed and dunking the blade a few times in the process.
I have ground and cut on these things for a long time and never killed temper.
I HAVE bought some with the temper dead, however. Back when. Wind chimes!
Thinking you have to really try hard to overdo it to kill temper.

The one ive done i kept a wet sponge at hand. Cut with a drimmel a bit and dab with the sponge. If i see red then i really cut back on the time cutting. It worked for me before.
Now if i can talk Tom, the owner of many many razors, to open his razor vault and send me a picture or 3 of Spanish point blades. It's just Sharpening, right?
