Got sidetracked but finally got the valves set and all back together.
Whatta pain....Three wrenches required and only 2 hands. New 40 wt Valvoline racing oil (high zinc!).
Runs great and no more 'tick'!
Used to do the 'thousand points of lube' every year. It's been 4 years......
Off to the grease guns and the Goldenrod oil can!

Here go. A '31 pickup. Last year for the Model A and first Ford with an all-steel top.

Ya. The queen of the red lights. Everybody seems to like it. Gotta holler at folks '1931!' when they ask. Much-photographed.
45 MPH is hauling ass!
When the kids were little I would put a blanket in the bed and put about 8 of them/friends in the back and tell them anyone who stood up had to walk back home.
We would cruise the cul-de-sacs of the neighborhood. Has a wolf whistle, an electric bell, and of course the oOOOgah horn.
Drove it to a small town 80 miles away once for a Christmas parade. Took forever.......

Aerodynamic? Hell no, the air moves out of the trucks way!

My dad had I think four different model A's before I was born. I have a brother that's 12 1/2 years older than me and he said he remembers riding in the middle.
My Dad used to say you could fix the thing with a screwdriver, a pair of pliers, a roll of baling wire, have parts left over and it would still run. You know the new cars run better, run cleaner, go faster, pollute less, maybe even last longer, DEFINITELY safer, but the thing that was cool about those is if something went wrong with it there were only so many things it could be and it wasn't very hard to figure that out if you knew a little bit about combustion engines.Iron by iron is sharpened, And a man sharpens the face of his friend.
