Thanked: 59Got the first one of the SMKW NOS razors done. The other three are heat treated and ready for finish grinding. It was interesting to see how the blades were cast/forged and how the scales were assembled. These don't look to be real high end, but so far the steel looks to be of good quality. They all got hard as expected and this one has good flex on the edge after tempering and grinding. I still need to finish honing it and give it a test shave.

Moving right along with the W&B yesterday.
Removed the unsightly hone wear from the blade, by hand sanding with 600 grit wet/dry, leaving a bit of pitting. I'm OK with that, being its not a perfect blade anyhow.
Removed the existing repair from the scales, and did my bog oak and epoxy repair. Sanded and reshaped the new repair, and ran them thru some dye.
Tonight I'll give the repair a top coat of CA, so to blend in the repair, then give um a polish.Mike

Had to work a double shift last night, so I didn't have time to do anymore than finish up the scales.
Not my best work, but satisfied enough for this blade.

Nothing, really. I just rushed thru them a bit more than most.
I've always worked on things, with this phrase in my mind.
You only have time to do it right.... Not twice.
I've always used structural epoxy (T-88) for this repair, but I was out of it. So I used basic 1 hour epoxy, instead.Mike
