Thread: What are you working on?

Finished the Frederick Reynolds, today.
After cleaning up the original wedge, it was too thin to allow the blade to sit at the proper depth in the scales. I needed around 1/32" more clearance, so I lined each side with .016 brass, for a perfect fit.
All honed and ready for Christmas morning.
A family photo shot.
And I've started on the Wosty.
Some sanding from spine to edge, gives me a visual on where I'm sanding while undercutting and removing the hone wear when sanding from toe to shoulders.
I could speed this up with the dremmel and greaseless wheels, but that's more of a chance to slip over the spine and cause more damage. Plenty of work to do as is, don't need any more. New Years right around the corner.Last edited by outback; 12-24-2022 at 01:27 AM.

My Wosty collection well surpasses a 7 day set. These are the three oldest Frederick Reynolds razors, I have.
I do have another that's identical to the one I just finished, but its a smaller version, and doesn't have the original scales. Hopefully, I'll stumble across a set with a honed out blade in it, that I can salvage from. It'd give me a reason to do a better job restoring the blade, than I did many years ago.
But you could say, I'd like to put a 7 day set together of oldie's like these. At least in this scale, design. Then I'd have to search for that, elusive as Bigfoot, 8/8+ Reynolds, razor.Last edited by outback; 12-24-2022 at 12:37 PM.

Lete have a look through my old Sheffields Mike. I may have one that fits that description. I know I have a couple smaller ones with that badge on the horn and I believe one is pretty spent.

Gettin closer.!
Many hours to go on this side yet, but the spines almost squared up again. Then there's the strop wear to contend with, going over the top of the grind line of the spine. Gonna be some work getting the lines back where they belong, on this one.Mike
