I don't think you will my friend. I have always loved working with blonde horn or honey horn as it is often referred to.

Today i woke up to my GF packing her bag. I asked "youre leaving?" and she replied "yup, you have razor stuff to do", then she booted. What a gal.

So.. I finished up these two sets of scales ive been working on.

This one is a Wade & Butcher i got on the bay for under 15 beans.

And a Henckels I had Lynn hone, then i melted the handles trying to straighten them out. I was pretty sad when i messed up the scales. I did save the inlay though. Outback inspired me to eventually try to do an onlay. Somewhere in the Butchered Blade the process lies hidden.. gotta find it.

    Here's the auction pic.

Here they are as of this afternoon. The W&B is Blue Mahoe with a Tru-Oil and Renaissance Wax finish, and the Henckels is Pernambuco with a Button Lac and Minwax finish. I gotta say i learned a lot working on these two sets of scales and got a lot of help.

Super job Matt! So she's gone for good? If so............oh well, there's more fish in the ocean.
I got a teeny weeny Heckles yesterday in the mail & I posted it on Show & Tell. The listing said it was small but didn't think it would be this small! It just needs a good cleaning, oiling & honing. It's smaller than any shorty I've ever made! I have just the right brush for it too, a vintage Ever Ready badger brush. Here's a quick peek at it. The rest you can see on Show & Tell.

Uh oh.. did i make it sound like she broke up with me? Well she didn't. She just very nicely went and did girl stuff without me so i could spend the day in the razor lab, without me having to shoo her off.

I saw that post a little while ago and i did have some razor envy. I have a handful of Henckels and they all shave really well. I have a pretty decent set of Henckels kitchen knives ive owned for a very long time, and i have a soft spot for those razors because of it.

    Default swatty degunk

Finishing swatty clean up. Lapped & Vaseline cured a couple months ago. Today slowly heating up Swatty & Moraine in oven to get the thin Vaseline cure residue off. Finger nail scrape of gunk.

Matt, it's no problem. I also thought about that but if she was leavin' ya, there's always more but good ones are hard to find. No big deal buddy.'Looks like ya did a swell job on the scales.
Razor lab huh? Hmmmmm might have to make a sign.
