Thanked: 2284Holy cow, pretty happy with the way this came out. I know the title of this thread is, what are you working on, but I really didn't do much work. Soaked this in a 1:1 CLR and Water bath for 4 hours. Then I put it straight into the dishwasher on normal cycle with high temp scrub. Came out gleaming! probably hit this with some mtal polish yet, but I doubt it will take much.
It sure was gross looking when I started...

Thanked: 2284Date code is G 4 whuch I think puts it at 1961??? I think. I have another, I need to dig up and compare date codes. Think this one is earlier made, and in better condition too.

Just like the ones mom & dad had. Couldn't find them after they passed away. Think pops threw his away, but mom still had hers somewhere. She used it to shave the calluses off her feet.

Thanked: 2284I remember my grandfather using a DE, but not my Dad. Dad used soap and a brush but it was always a disposable. That was in the 80's.

Cleaned up very well Andrew. Nice find. Still looking for an adjustable DE for my collection.
Ideally a 65 for birth year bragging rights..
Hopefully this floor will be done today, aside from grout. So after some rest I am back to blade work..

Looks like you tossed some faucet heads in for good measure, Andrew! CLR is some great stuff.
I am a 59 model, but I remember LOTS of Schick injectors from my youth. I suppose they were the 'newest thing, back in the early 60's.
Hope you can get that finished soon, Mike. My laundry room rebuild is a never-ending task, I think.
Every time I start something like this, it takes a month of weekends and goes WAY over budget!Last edited by sharptonn; 05-23-2016 at 01:47 PM.
