Don't throw anything away, My Friend!

If it is a part of history, it is worth re purposing in some manner.
With your skillset, you should find out pretty soon.

    Nothing gets thrown away.!!
Pieces can be used for shorties, or ground up and mixed with CA or epoxy and used for repairs.
    A don't forget the bolsters.

Yes it's true I do have tons of bits, parts, pieces that I have saved to use again but I wouldn't have thought to use the "Emperor" the way sharptonn did... I'm sure I would have saved it though, for a template or whatever. Still, I have the urge to dig through my garbage at the moment, just to be sure.

Just received my other W&B Special. For the price I'm super happy. Only down side is the pitting rust at the toe did not notice that in pics, just thought it was rust no pitting. But if it shaves like my other special I'm happy. Suggestions on what to do about the toe? Cut it? Thanks for looking.

Maybe before cutting it or rounding it off you could set a bevel and inspect that area under magnification. If it's all Swiss cheese in the bevel then maybe lose that part but if the bevel is ok you wouldn't necessarily have to remove it, probably just clean it up.

I would try to do things in this order before hack'n and slash'n. Scrap off rust with a DE blade, clean with Dawn and polish it up. Then try honing it. I would normally say use steel wool & WD40, but that finish might come off...

If it's pretty cheesy (heh) a decent honing should bring you to fresh metal. I would try everything imaginable before cutting down the razor.

Finished up modifying a cigar box to store my straights.
Can store a total of 9, being a mix of 5/8 & 6/8"'s or thereabouts. Fortunately (or Un depending on your viewpoint) I don't own anything larger.
