What do I know? Not a fan of the butterfly ones. Just me.

Nice to have it in his memory. Good idea!

A friend has 2 of them which were his dad's. Like NOS in the plastic cases. Why would a man have 2 like that?
Gillette commercials and Christmastime, I expect!
I think you're right about it being the least aggressive Sharptonn. My Dad didn't have a heavy beard like I do. I tried the thing once years ago and had to switch to my Wade and Butcher mid shave. My Gillette Dial a Shave travel razor is set on 9.

I'm going to start on this SR next. Mostly cleaning and a hone. Picked this jewel up at a local antique store cheap and found
an interesting history to it. From 1933 until 1943, Leo La Grant had a hardware store located at 216 W. Randolph in Enid, OK
(my hometown). He bought and distributed straight razors by W. L. Buck Co. Although I can't link W. L. Buck Co. to Smoky, at
least I know where this straight was originally sold and about when.

After the reshaping of these scales, I had to make the wedge nearly a communion wafer to prevent this big blade from sticking out the bottom. Which would have been very bad...went collarless on the third pin, just like original as well.

But she centered up nice nice, closes well and is ready for the stones!
The cats meow once I bring its edge back once more I'm hoping.
Back to its original, understated, utilitarian bad ass self..
    Cheers gents.

It will clean places that you cannot reach with a brush or cloth.
