Roy there's this thing called eBay
I found it more convenient & economical to use the essential oil.
Pure Bay Essential Oil (Pimenta racemosa) 100% Natural Therapeutic Grade | eBayThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Hey my good mate, I know all about FleaBay, just ask my PayPal Account!
I did order some of the oil, $9 delivered and I'll play with that but as I said I'd like to eventually see what I can do with Benz's Mother's recipe. Nothing like having an heirloom.

Which brings me to ask if you could share your recipe????Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Ooh boy, that was a loong time ago. I'm may be in one of the many existing bayrum threads but it was all just a bunch of adding this & that experimentation so no specific formula involved. 10 drops at a time was my rule so I didnt overdo anything.
What I can remember is Captain Morgans rum . A full bottle & some Absolut vodka maybe a half bottle ? A bunch of orange rinds, bay rum oil, clove oil, sandlewood oil, lime oil, Virginian cedarwood oil, Frankincense oil. I still have a little left after many years. I can also clearly remember the lovely Chilean lady at the essential oil supplier who packed my parcel... but I digress (sigh)The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Sometimes you just can't get the oxidation off of molded scales without compromising the design. I've been experimenting with a few different things to try to color the scales and so far this is been the best one. It's called Kiwi heal and edge and it's just a basic edge dressing for shoes. I put on a very thin coat and it came out glossy and dries very quickly. So far it seems like it's going to be a very durable finish. Sorry for the crappy pics.
