Maybe the old lathe will watch from the corner while you use the new one and start to resent you.

Have been paying some attention to a razor I got at a flea market 3 summers ago. It's a Holley 7/8 with a metal end cap. I just saved this razor put away knowing that it was a pretty cool razor and thinking I would get it cleaned and honed one day. It didn't take much, some 3000 sandpaper and hand rubbing some polish, cleaned the scales in and out, and now she's having a soak for the night in some neetsfoot oil. Probably will need to tighten the pivot pin slightly.

Hey guys, I'm still here. Been battling the flu most of December. I was on here early the other morning & was looking at several pages & great work to the guys doing the things I saw plus I saw outback mention me about the nickel rod I sent him. I sent some of that to Tom back when I sent him some washers but he never told me how the rod was. Good ole Tom, I see you're doing well but I don't wish this bug on anyone! Now B52 is working on a pocket watch & I have been pm'ing him because I know a little about that & I have a watchmakers lathe but I still need to get my larger one over here.

One of the very few things I did while sick was to soak this Joseph Elliot in neatsfoot oil in a small oval glass tube kinda like a test tube. I was told it was a straight razor tube, it is oval shape in roundness. It has a rubber top. I guess if it was for razors, the razor was also in a thin cloth bag with a string at the top. My Craftsman/Sta-Sharp is like that in the coffin.

I can't show it now. The pics won't upload.

Good to hear your on the mend, Steve. Was starting to worry about ya. Was hoping you weren't coming down with pneumonia, as bad as it sounded the last time we talked.
    BTW. HAPPY NEW YEAR BRO.

This G&F Adoration Axe came in the mail today. The blade cleaned up pretty well with Emory and green rouge. The scales needed a slight warp correction and some light sanding before they hit the buffers. The blueing on the tang was very faded so I gave it four coats with a cold blue touch up pen. This is the first time I've tried this with the scales on and I'm very happy with my results. The markings were then painted red, which is how they were originally. The paint looks good on the back but the markings aren't deep enough on the front. Overall I'm pretty happy with this light restoration.

Nice job BeJay! Seems like that touch up pen works great, razor looks really nice. Cool logo on the front scale with the axe in there.
