In person it's almost black. I'll try and take some better pictures later.

Now that I look with my iPad as opposed to my phone it is completely different. Yes it is very dark. It still looks good though. There is just something about old dark steel that I find appealing.

I met Earl Campbell at an HEB function along with Bum Phillips. They were introducing their hot links to the market. I was totally shocked when I spoke with him. He could hardly walk. I was very saddened by this reality. But his hot links are wonderful!!!

Yeah, they really used him up. Took lots of punishment.

A little side story, my business is titled 'Campbell' as I was located on Campbell Road.
Sales calls always asked for 'Mr. Campbell'. As I explained he was not in, the badgers always asked what his first name was(so they could ask by first name as they called back).

I always replied Earl. I get SO many calls still for Earl.
A guy with an Indian accent called for him just today!

I hope that the Powers That Be will forgive me for continuing to be 'Off Topic'

Many years ago a kid that worked in my department commented on how customers would call him by name when they didn't even know who he was. I told him it was because he had to wear a Name Tag so the customer would just see his name and call him by it.

SO! This kid made a new name tag that said Dick Tracy. Put it on and went back to the sales floor. It wasn't even 20 minutes when he came into the back room laughing his ass off.

I asked what was so funny and he said: "This customer looked at me, then my name tag and then looked me right in the eyes and said; "Uh excuse me---'Dick' and then asked his question.

I've never forgotten that about 'Dick'.

Thanks guys. The thought of bluing it never even crossed my mind. I'm so glad I did! The little imperfections are hidden in the blue now, and it's simply stunning in person. I'll be honing it up and shaving soon. I'll try and get some better pictures up too.

If you blue a blade and buff most of it off, it gives the look of 'old patina', esp as you have sanded it and done repairs. Makes them look 'old' again if done right!
