Please don't tell me I need to get a life after the following.
This discussion got me thinking....
Are the products of celluloid off gassing lighter or heavier than air? Do they rise or fall to the bottom?
To prevent the problem it would make sense to me to put the ventilation holes at the top and the bottom of the case not the left or right.

Without the Scientific Knowledge to say whether or not the gas rises or falls, when Ski and I made the display for the Canadian's Grandfather's Razor to be displayed in we put the vents on the sides with the thought of 'Cross Ventilation'. In other words Any Ventilation was far better than No Ventilation At All.
The vents were cut on the table saw so they are significant.
I recently talked to the Canadian and the razor, scales and display are all doing well. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

Cleaning up a 6/8, Eugenio Hoppe, "AEVOS" with homemade diamond plate aluminum scales. The scales need sanded more, to remove the leftover diamond pattern, and whatnot.
The razor is dated 1919-1923, in the German razor maker/ cutlers guide.

Well I don't know what to say about this. However, what's done is done. I am going to have to live with this. If I put anymore holes in it, well that's not an option moving forward. Worst case, I remove the razors from the case and build an open air model. Like I said, I will continually monitor the situation and take appropriate action.

Damn nice razor case and even if the gas rises or falls, with holes going up and down the side it will vent in my opinionLook sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz
