Dang some amazing work going on in here and cool topic. I learned a bit about lawn bowling.......wonder if I'll ever use this info?

Andrew the brush looks great with the Ivory inlaid like that. Great job. And to the Benchmade, I have 3 of them. Very quality knives and worth the price. My edc knife is a Benchmade with spring assist and it's been riding in my pocket for 3 years and used regularly. I wouldn't know what to do without it.

Oh boy. What a freaking craftsman! Those loom strops were beyond gorgeous. IIRC, I had him go over how to make them step by step in one of the old threads he posted.

If it was now, I'd have him make me one......

I have always been intrigued with the plating process. I have far to many things happening here already. I may at some point send someone a birth year gold aristocrat for some plating repairs and maybe one of my Rapides too.
Pixel made amazing loom strops. I had one on his list of things to do, but he never got to that part of the list. He was going to make one for me without ivory buttons on it so he could send it directly to me. He would never attempt to send anything with any ivory content at all across the boarder.

    "FINALLY"!!!
Took awhile, but I finally finished the Packwood blade.

After the 600 greaseless I hand sanded with 600 w&d to even everything out, then to a 3M 800 grt. finishing disc, ( thanks to Eric ) then a green scotchbrite wheel. I then progressed with 800 krokus paper & oil, to krokus, oil, Cr/Ox,
Lightening the pressure along the way, and finishing with one directional strokes from spine to edge.
For the tang, it was lightly touched with the dremmel, and 600 greaseless that was wore down ( very little grt ) just to clean it up a bit, then hand rubbed with the krokus, oil, Cr/Ox, then all polished with a micro fiber towel.

Now what wood to chose for scales.

Default how to get a W. Greaves & Sons Sheaf Works stamp in new horn scales?

I found this old guy languishing in the back of an antique mall, sadly neglected and needing a home. I have ordered some horn blanks to make new scales. But now I'm thinking, golly it would be super to be able to get that "Sheaf Works" impression in the new horn scales, wouldn't it?

Any ideas? I think these impressions were probably done with heated metal stamps, don't think I can make one of those.
