Currently hand sanding carefully my Greaves. Sadly will lose the etch but I can not have the grind marks left by an idgit.

As you said, they were too faint to really see so I dont think your loosing out. Get rid of the mess the idgit left would be my choice too. Idgit, ha. I like it!

Do it, they are awesome. I liked this one so much, I bought another. Except my new is in G10 and has 20CV steel. Love that one even more.

Yes the etch was so awesome to discover but so far faint it was dis heartening. But its cleaning well the marks left by idgit are pretty deep so some of those may stay.
Andrew I have considered buying one just price point is all that's kept me. I have a $20 smith and Wesson I love. Takes a great edge and keeps it. I got that from the cave at cabelas should have bought all 5! Maybe one day ill take your advice and go for it. Thats several razors though.....

I have 2 and think they are nice enough but overpriced. I have only had them a short time but think the mechanisms will be susceptible to crud.

I got mine for $25 USD and $40 used. i would have never paid the $150 and $250 that they would have been new.
