Well. this one is the weirdest I've ever met! How it got to a show/ sales room I really do not know.
It cleaned fairly well but it would not hone for sour owl tweety!]

To use the term waggle, or frown, or smile would not give due justice to its uniqueness!.
Who ever looks at a grind? One usually hones the side down then the other...right?
Look carefully! There is a different grind on each side of the blade!
The finish looked as though it had been the original factory polish and not reground then polished. So I learned a lot and hope I train myself better for the future!

That's interesting for sure I'd sure have been surprised.

Oh and back to family charging family. When that daughter opened her own shop I insisted on being her first PAYING CUSTOMER. She said "Dad you know I don't charge you to cut your hair." I insisted!

Her shop was to open at 10am and I was there at 9:30 she cut my hair and after had me all cleaned up and ready to leave I reached inside of my shirt and pulled out a small gift wrapped package. She asked what it was and I said, "It's your Payment" when she opened it she found a framed Dollar, the very first dollar she had earned in her own business and it was a Silver Dollar that was 125 years old at the time. She thanked my very much and then asked if she could paint the frame to match her shops decor and I of course said yes.

    Have a Nice Day
I never mentioned your daughter in my post but would agree if that dad messed up even my relatively cheap scissors at $350 a piece even if I felt like it I wouldn't complain.

My point was that it seemed interesting to start a scissor sharpening business until it came to the thoughts of money and charging others for it. Then it becomes work. Then it involves money time etc. It takes much of the fun out of it.

But then again that is why it is called work!

Been working on removing the chips of this Gervais that I got recently. I searched and searched for this Guy in Texas to find the maker with the grinding wheel trademark, till another one showed up on this thread: http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...e-gervais.html
Original condition when I got it.

You have a rather interesting train of thought as that was nothing close to what I'd written.

That is kind of funny ain't it. ha/ I got tired of scraping the rust from inside the pivots on the 7 day set so took a break. They are about ready for the hones. Thinking maybe tomorrow but might wait another week on them.

Changing the scales still makes it a gold dollar? Well, this is true but you wont know its a gold dollar. At least it wont look like one any more. I've been wanting to do this for a while. Try my hand a reshaping a blade. I wasn't going to do it with something finished or something I paid good money for so the GD was the winner. Or looser, depending on how you look at it.
