I liked that movie. Not the way i talk on the radio but it was a great movie.

At one time, and on another shave forum, i did a thread on being the gasman. And i had others say i should do the same about radio. But radio can get to be a very deep subject. Math, wavelengths, antenna building, etc... so i never did it. Might think about it here as long as people dont go wanting me to explain trig to figure out velosity factors of a signal in a coax cable.

And of corse in its own thread.
Not that I know trig, but I do understand water in a pipe , electricity and amps type of math

I've studied elecromagnetic waves and use trig extensively for job. I was almost a math major, but mechabical engineering had more job prospects.

So, I can help with any math questions, except p=np

I learned it to pass my license grade. I'm an Extra Class operator. Third stage up. Not many folks go that far. More for bragging rights. Now I just use a calculator if I got to come up with those kind of figures. Not used much anymore in real use. But when explaining stuff some folks (most) want to know WHY. Then it can get carried away really fast. And at times its theory. And everyone has there own. OK, Back to razors! Ha.
    It's just Sharpening, right?

I have a friend who is heavily into short wave...I remember he bailed on a bunch of us one night because he said "the skip" was awesome and he was reaching places he couldn't believe.

He had a map of the world in his den and pins and codes from all over the world.

I picked up an F. Dick for my brother, this seems like a fun restore. There is a serious spot of rust that worries me.

You will find that the RING at the end of the handle will unscrew so you can dissasemble the entire steel.

That looks like one of the 'OVAL' ones.

I've worked on many and I'd start with some 80 or 100 grit wet and dry and go lengthwise (ON THE STEEL ROD).

Depending on what 'surface' you want you can use a buffer going lengthwise to smooth the factory grooves.

    PROGRESS PICTURES PLEASE! :TU
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.

I want an F Dick! A restoration is in order! Gotta look around a bit. They just got more expensive!
I have some Lipshaw autopsy knives which would benefit!

There was one on ebay about a week or two ago, lowish starting bid and no one bid against me. Pictures weren't great but showed the nice stamp.

How far is prudent as far as the highest grit to go?
